Questions for in the house

  • Length of the lounge room wall (both sides, need to know if we can fit couches on one side and TV on the other): 2.4 TV, 4.2 wall to kitchen bench. 4.5 all the way
  • Size of the fridge gap: 75 (173 tall)
  • Microwave: 32 high 70 wide 40 deep
  • Check out the closet in the hall, looks good
  • Is the hot water electric or gas? No gas

Proposed layout plan

Kitchen: Fridge from 3/22 Lilly St, kettle and toaster from Nanna, the microwave from 3/22 would fit in that gap if I can’t get Julia to give it to me then we’ll take Nanna’s but it won’t fit in the gap

TV wall: Nanna bookshelf + TV (snug fit)
Couch wall: Couch + desk (room for side table and/or maybe cube shelf and/or pink thing)
Bedroom: bed + dresser and mirror + bedside tables + cube shelves lying down alongside the wall where the dresser is?
Spare room: spare bed??? + guitar rack + spare dining chars + billy and/or cube(s) + pink thing?? + wing-back chair??? + black mirror with the deer head

Bed/Dresser analysis

With current bed (mattress + frame): 1.4 sides, 90 cm dresser gap
With Queen bed (mattress + frame): 1.35 sides, 70 cm dresser gap
With King bed (mattress + frame est): 1.15 sides, 70 cm dresser gap

Current thinking: considering the hassle and unknown expense of the queen (no idea whether it’s easy to take apart for transport or not).. I should take my current double bed over there and think about buying a king size in the future. The double can either be a spare bed or sold to siblings/friends for cheap!

Furniture and layout improvements

  • Frame/shelving around TV (we have to be certain we won’t change the size of the TV in the near future)

  • Lower down shelves for bedroom, next to dresser, display items, storage drawers
